Estelle Phillips:

King Arthur Uther Pendragon is a senior druid and pagan priest. I'm absolutely thrilled that he joined me at Nature Talks With Humans to discuss such things as rights for Stonehenge, knighting Ozzie Osborne and Johnny Rotten, the druid ideology, connection with nature, the Newbury protest, his very own police van, and lots more besides. This podcast is a chance in a million to hear from one of the most important voices in The UK, and I'm so grateful to King Arthur for coming and being so generous with his time. Thank you.

King Arthur:

My name is actually Arthur Uther Pendragon. I'm generally known as King Arthur. I'm a senior druid and pagan priest, and I suppose I'm best known for assisting in the in the rights at Stonehenge over solstices and equinoxes. But I'm also quite well known for the fact that it was me that took them to the European Court to open it up in 2000. I actually took them to the European Court in '98, November '98.

King Arthur:

And they tried in '99 to have an all ticket event. I told them it wouldn't work. It didn't. I actually walked through through the fence with Willie x, and we ended up in the police cells as I'd done for ten or more years, prior to that, since the, exclusion zone, which I challenged in the European court. And funnily enough, the young young barrister who assisted me is is quite well known now.

King Arthur:

He's, the former prime minister, Kear Salma. But he was working as a civil rights barrister when I I I met him. And he was on loan to me from a friend of mine who is John Wadham, who who ran Liberty. He was the director of Liberty. And John was going to challenge the new criminal justice act as was I, as was a number of other people in different ways.

King Arthur:

So I was the very first to be arrested under the new act. I was on all the marches against it when it was a criminal justice bill. We were up in London on many marches because we were the the warrior arm of the druid movement, me and my order. We were up the trees at Newbury, Typhoon Down, places like that. And as I said, I was the very first arrest for the new offense of trespassery assembly at Stonehenge.

King Arthur:

Not only was I the first arrest, I was also the first not guilty because Liberty lent me this young barrister and he Mackenzie friended with me. So he wasn't representing me, but he was assisting me. And, his name was Keir Starmer. And he went on to become prime minister sometime later, but he also done all the paperwork for me for the European case that I took in '98. I lost there, and, the European court viewed that the UK government was allowed to bring in the exclusion zone.

King Arthur:

But and this is where I won because we won by default because they were only allowed to do it if they could prove it was in the interest of national security, which, of course, they couldn't. So in '99, they went for the all ticket event event. Didn't work as I said it didn't because we we were all on the outside. I I was offered ticket zero zero one, and I refused it. I refused the ticket, and I was on the outside with everybody else.

King Arthur:

All all all the, you know, all the gray unwashed including me. And basically, fence literally, we the weight of people on the fence, it came down. So all the other druids who were all at Countess Roundabout waiting to be bust up, they didn't get in because we did, the people. And the fence fell. We all came came in.

King Arthur:

This was this was '99. They canceled the event, so the druids never got in anyway. And I spent another night in this house, but that was with a couple of broken ribs because they'd rugby tackled me. I I was actually ejected eight times. So on the eighth time I got my ribs broken and they they took me in to replace cells.

King Arthur:

And of course, like most years, they just threw me out in the morning. Once the dorm was gone, they'd throw me out. So it was a political arrest more than anything else. I eventually got them into court for that, for wrongful arrest and unlawful imprisonment, and I won. And I got compensation.

King Arthur:

I didn't want compensation. I just wanted to get them in in the dock. But out of compensation, I bought a secondhand van. I called it me police van because the police paid for it. I was on the road again, back on the road in in a Libyan van.

King Arthur:

And then sometime later, I sued him for something else and got a motorbike. I called back the police motorbike because the police paid for it. But the reality is I've taken them to court as much as they have taken me to court. Yeah. But so, yeah, I I head up what's what's viewed as the warrior arm or the political arm.

King Arthur:

In fact, political. I'd I'd stand as an independent candidate for Salisbury at the general election. So my my order, which is called the loyal Arthurian warband, is regarded as the sort of warrior political arm of the modern druid movement. But we have got a lot of decent druids amongst us. We do take druidry seriously, and and we've got a lot of good bards as well.

King Arthur:

I mean, some of the more serious, what I have called the learning druids come up to me and say, well, we did twenty one years study. And we do all this study to become a bard, all this study to become an overweight, which is the next level, and then so so much more study to become a druid. But you just you just knight people off. You you just make them in your order and initiate them, and that's it. And I said, yeah, you got some good bards.

King Arthur:

I said, but how many of you bards, for instance, your musicians have had a number one? And I said, do mean a number one? I said, well, Ozzie Osborne from the rock genre. Johnny Rotten from punk rock genre. Lethal Bizzle from Grime.

King Arthur:

They've all had number ones and they're all in my order. So I've got some very yeah. Yeah. I mean, Ozzie's not. He's dead now, but I knighted him.

King Arthur:

Yeah. No way. When I knighted Johnny Rotten, I'd knighted Johnny Rotten down in Glastonbury by the cathedral, and it was just after Mick Jagger had been knighted. And he turned around to the camera after after I knighted him, and on live Belgian TV, who was filming it at the time, he said, fuck, Jagger. I got the real deal.

King Arthur:

And all the Ozzie was whinging at me, and I said, Neil, made him kneel in sheep shit down in Clasden Bop and Clasdenbury too. So and and that was on film as well. Mean, because a lot of the famous people I I I've met, And as as one of my priestesses says, all the alpha males, they all go beneath his sword. They all they all get knighted by Arthur. Just in case.

King Arthur:

And they do. I mean, you know, I've got heads heads of pagan movements in churches. Mean, Oberon in America, he's he's he's one of my knights, you know. So, a lot of the because I met him when he was over here for the eclipse in '99.

Estelle Phillips:

Oh, that's funny.

King Arthur:

Yeah. Yeah. We we we were doing we we pulled the short straw. We had to do Menin Tor which is where everybody was heading for. So everybody thought if any of the druid orders can keep control down there, it's gonna be the warband.

King Arthur:

And funnily enough, that's the name of my order, is a loyal Arthurian warband. The loyal doesn't mean a thing. I just put the l on the front so we can say in court, we're not breaking the law, we are the law. Alright. Okay.

King Arthur:

Got you. Yeah. So it's a play on words. And like I say, I've I've taken them to court as much as they've taken to me. But going back to sort of drudgery and and nature, I mean, I find a misconception.

King Arthur:

A lot of the the Americans and the Christians are of the belief that we as pagans worship nature. We don't actually worship nature. What we worship is the divine, but we see the divine through nature. So it's just the same as the power of prayer from a Christian point of view. Any incantation, anything we do, you're just calling on higher forces to aid you through nature.

King Arthur:

And obviously you're calling on the four elements of fire, water, earth and air. But you're also calling on the, what I refer to is the genus loci, which is the spirit of the place. Now a lot of pagans will tell you that the Christians stole all our sites. They stole, stole them as if they were ours in the first place. That's not true.

King Arthur:

It's the genus loci. It's the spirit of the place itself that is sacred. It's the actual land that you're standing on, the place that's sacred. And it doesn't matter whether you put a synagogue on it, whether you put a mosque on it, a church on it, a cathedral on it, a burial mound on it. It's the place itself that's sacred.

King Arthur:

It doesn't belong to any one spirituality which is why when I draw people together, I don't always call on the gods and the goddesses or even the spirit of the place. I call on our humanity and I call on the people themselves to get together to hold hands and when we hold hands we say the Druids Vow. Now the thing with the Druids Vow and why I find it so important is we do not use any specific religion. We you don't have to be overtly pagan or overtly druid to join the Druids Vow. It's about our humanity and our tribe.

King Arthur:

So when we join hands, we say, we swear by peace and love to stand heart to heart and hand in hand. Mark, oh spirit, and hear us now confirming this our sacred vow. And we use the word spirit specifically because it can mean any deity or or any belief structure that you in turn believe in. So everybody can join the tribe and join together at equinoxes and solstices at Stonehenge for instance, which is why four four and what we we got we got four times a year, meet at Stonehenge and we meet there for the dawn of the longest, the shortest and the equal days and anyone can join and anyone can join in the Druids Vow when we do it there. And but then there's the agricultural festivals that we celebrate as well, such as Beltane, Hamas, Candlemasse, you know, you can give them by the by the Irish names, by the pagan names, by the Christian names.

King Arthur:

It doesn't matter on on the name. I mean, it's the same same with the divine. It doesn't matter what you call it. You are you have to as as they say, most most religions will agree on basically Father Sky and Mother Earth. Now, the thing that gets me that I read was that the first ever multi faith meeting which was held in South America.

King Arthur:

When they met, there wasn't pagan representation. There was no pagans there. They thought, what can we do that we can all do that we can all agree on? So they met in a circle and all they could know that all of the leaders of all of the faiths could agree on was called in in the courses. So they called in the elements of the courses and they conducted effectively a pagan ceremony and there wasn't a single pagan there leading it or telling them what to do.

King Arthur:

It was the only thing they could agree on. So effectively the very first meeting of interface at that level was conducted in South America and it was done in a pagan fashion. But that's it. The idea is to be as close to nature as you can, to be a part of nature. Not above nature, not apart from, but a part of.

King Arthur:

We are just part of this planet, this planet Gaia, the goddess herself. This is our home. Our home is our deity. We would not survive without the life from the sun. So that's where the ancient druids come in and where why it's sort of as an astronomical event and basically why it's sort of in the terms it is which is earth, sun, and moon.

King Arthur:

They are all very important and they were all, apparently enough, in line yesterday for the eclipse. And I was yesterday during the eclipse, I was I was down at Stonehenge and I was actually doing a bit of weather magic trying to to bring the rains as it were to to break, you know, this scorcher. Be because we definitely need rain. We I mean, at the moment, is ablaze. I mean, it it's ridiculous.

King Arthur:

Nature's fighting back and nature will fight back. But what gets me is the arrogance of man. You hear from so many people, oh, the end is nigh. We're gonna, you know, we're all gonna die because of global warming. We're gonna wreck the earth.

King Arthur:

No. You might wreck your place in here. You might not survive, honey. But she will. She'll be here long after you've gone just like the other dinosaurs.

King Arthur:

You know what I mean?

Estelle Phillips:

Can I ask you something?

King Arthur:

Of course.

Estelle Phillips:

About Druid belief in nature and spirituality. And you said the divine comes through nature. What I wanted to ask you was have you felt that divinity?

King Arthur:

Oh, yes. Yes.

Estelle Phillips:

Can you give me

King Arthur:

an example, Yeah. Yeah. I can give could give many examples, but I mean the god, the goddess, the divinity, it's not only the divine that we see through nature and you you can see the divinity there. Yes. But it's but it's also the shoulders on which we stand.

King Arthur:

It's man's inimitable and eternal spirit. It's the ancestors who came before us. It's our fathers, our forefathers, our mothers, our grandmothers, our great great grandmothers going all the way back. And that is what I refer to as the genus loci, the spirit of the place, the people who have been there before and as a druid, we call in the ancestral spirit. Mhmm.

King Arthur:

But but to give you an example of the divine, you see the divine in everything. You see it in this spring. You see it in the changes of nature. You see it all around you. And you certainly know when it affects your life as it does in so many ways.

King Arthur:

And it affects everybody's life. But a lot of people, I mean you can call like I said earlier when talking about different religions. You can you can say it's an incantation, it's a spell, it's power of prayer depending on what religion you are or even if you're no religion, you can say, oh, it's a coincidence. You can call it many things. I call it magic and that has touched my life throughout.

King Arthur:

And as as a druid, it it it's touched my life in so many ways. I mean, we we were talking about legal stuff earlier and and and of course, your father was was a solicitor and and and he was here at Stonehenge doing Well, his some other things that happen are so mundane you wouldn't notice it, but I'll give you an example of magic. Mhmm. An example of the divine working through. As druids, we say it's the awen working through us.

King Arthur:

The what? It's the awen.

Estelle Phillips:

But what how do you spell that?

King Arthur:

A w e n. Okay. Yeah. The spirit. I mean, it's a say it it in a Christian terms, it'd be the holy spirit.

Estelle Phillips:

Okay. Got you. Right. Yeah. Yeah.

King Arthur:

So it's the spirit working through you that gives you the ability. I mean, I I I'm a published poet as well as a published author. But I don't know where the poetry comes from. It's the hour and he he comes Yeah. And and it comes through.

King Arthur:

But going back to the legal thing, when I changed my name back in 1986, I said, right, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it. Because of a number of coincidences and different things that had happened, I thought, right, I'm going to do it. So I went along to a solicitor's and, right, this is where the magic steps in. But in this case, it's coincidence, but it's all part of magic because I'll explain in a moment.

King Arthur:

So I went down and I said, wanna wanna change my name. They said, well, you're lucky as it's 1986. Had you had it been last year, had it been any other time, you'd have to keep your Christian name. But they are now, because we are now regarded as a multicultural nation, they are now regarded as four names, so you can. Because I had a friend at school who wanted to change his name to Elvis Presley when Elvis Presley died.

King Arthur:

He had to be Ronald Elvis Aaron Presley because it was a Christian name and you had to keep it. But the day I went in there, we just they said, well, you can now. You can. That that's amazing. So I said, alright.

King Arthur:

I wanna change my name to Arthur who's the Pendragon. Okay. We'll change your name, Dean. We'll prepare it. You come in tomorrow.

King Arthur:

Sign it. That's it. So I went in the next day. No. Well, it might have been a couple of days later.

King Arthur:

They said, come in Wednesday. Anyway, I went in and they'd spelt it wrong. It was a spelling mistake. He said, Uther rather than Uther. So I said, oh, give it here.

King Arthur:

I'll just initial it. That'll be fine. No. No. No.

King Arthur:

It's a legal document. You'll have to come back tomorrow, but I have to prepare another one. So I went back the next day, which was the June 11. I was due to change my name on the tenth. But anyway, so just because of a spelling error, I went in the next day.

King Arthur:

Now, when I was later, a couple of years later, I'm down in Glastonbury. And I always thought the whole thing about Arthur and Guinevere's grave and then being taken away. It was a load of rubbish and then the monks had just said that to make money. So I didn't think the connection was very strong from that point of view. But I was there because of the other connection, the whole Isle Of Avalon sort of connection.

King Arthur:

So I've gone down to I guess, Sabrina was living down there and that was when I knighted Johnny Rotten and and late late later Ozzie Osborne. But, you know, while I was in Gloucesterbury, somebody was doing some Arthurian research and came upon a a medieval book and said, here, look at this in here. And it was talking about where they took took the the two bodies away of Arthur and Yeah. Guinevere. And it said, and hard by, which was old English, this was written in the fourteen hundreds, and hard by a new marvel arose.

King Arthur:

A walnut tree that flowered but once a year on Saint Barnabas' Day, the June 11. And I thought that's why they made this spelling mistake because I was supposed to change on the eleventh. Yeah. Now, that may be just a coincidence, but there are so many of those coincidences that fell into place in my life that that's the magic and that's the divine working through because things are all done at a specific moment for a specific reason. So that is just one minor example from the start of my quest that's after.

King Arthur:

That was literally that. But that was some years later that I realized why it had to be done on the eleventh. I mean, on another occasion, I went went went down to Glastonbury, went to the tour, said I wanted to be reunited, you know, find the real Arthur, I'm on Excalibur, you know. As if. Nothing happened.

King Arthur:

But I go back to my hometown, get stuck at a set of traffic lights and a princess who sat next to me, he says, look, they got swords in the window there. It's going over. Look at them. I said, rubbish. And I, you know, seen loads of swords, cavalry swords, you know, this or that.

King Arthur:

I went back and there it was, Excalibur. In the window. Yay. It just happened that I reread the poem that we'd said on top of the tour and it said be reunited with Excalibur by the next full moon and it was the next full moon. No.

King Arthur:

Yes. And so that is the magic working. Yeah. And there have been numerous occasions like that throughout my life of of just, you know, things falling into place. The the universe conspiring

Estelle Phillips:

if

King Arthur:

if you like to make you do certain things. And in my case, to make me into a senior druid in a battle chieftain for the sort of pagan movement and for the wider movement of the counter culture movement, I suppose. And when we were fighting, literally, what happened was I I went to Newbury. Now, I'd already been involved slightly over the Twiper Down thing and a few of the other earlier ones. But I went to Newbury and a couple of other senior druids went to Newbury.

King Arthur:

And the and the junior druids, if you like, the the lads who were actually on there said, yeah, you'll never get them up the trees. You know what I mean? But so they'd all invited their their their druid leaders there, and and and one of them had gone and been, he claims, misquoted by the press. But he they'd said to him, they said, okay. So you're here fighting against this bypass that's Yeah.

King Arthur:

Supposed to be built. And he said, well, no. Not exactly. We're druids. We are apolitical.

King Arthur:

We don't get involved in the politics of things. We're just here to bless the trees. And I thought to myself, well, that's a requiem mass. You know what I mean? So that posed to me the question, and this is the question that I would pose to your listeners.

King Arthur:

Who's the real druid? The guy on the ground in the white frock, as I refer to my robes, or the guy at the tree risking his life? They evicted the next day and I found out what the real answer was and that's the third way. It's a guy at the tree wearing the white frog. Went straight up the trees and I held them off in my beach tree for two hours.

King Arthur:

And then they brought me down and there's a great picture of me and all his security and police around me when they got me finally down on the ground. And I called them the picture, how many does it take to arrest a king? And apparently, my my my sister worked it out and someone like thirty eight and three pairs of boots or something. But yeah. So so I started building a reputation up then as, you know, the leader of the warrior arm of the druids.

King Arthur:

And then years later, all the druids who it's been the more serious druids who had said to me, well Arthur, you know, how can you, you know, be a druid when you keep getting arrested? To which I answered, well, simple. My order is sworn to fight for truth, honor and justice. And I can't find a better place to fight for justice than in a court of law.

Estelle Phillips:

Yeah.

King Arthur:

So if the law is wrong, I will challenge it which I have done over the years. And now, those same senior druids from back then, it's it's like being ghostbusters. Who are gonna call? You know, they get a hold of King Arthur and say, we got we got a problem, man. We need I mean, one of one of them was was a friend of someone who will remain anonymous, well, for a few moments.

King Arthur:

I'll tell you who it was in a minute. But anyway, they rang me up and said, look, we've got this tree and Tree? Tree. Yeah.

Estelle Phillips:

What type of tree?

King Arthur:

It's it's it's an old native tree. Yeah. And they wanna knock it down. Yeah. And it belongs to a friend of mine.

King Arthur:

This is what he said. So I can't get involved. This is one of the senior dudes. So I said, I can vote. He said, yes.

King Arthur:

I hoped you'd say that. So I said, I'll just threaten a protest. That'll be enough. Because just before then, right, I'd I'd been involved in Newbury, but then they brought out the original idea for the tunnel at Stonehenge And originally, they were doing a cut and cover. And I said to them, well, do your cut and cover because I was at a meeting with Mock McDonald who got the tender at the time for the first tunnel.

King Arthur:

And I said, we'll do it as long as you budgeted for the biggest protest in Europe. They said, how'd you know there'd be a protest? I said, because I'll be fucking leading it. And on the back of Newbury, they took me serious, and they never do it. The tunnel never mind Boris saying he'll be in front of the diggers if they ever do third runway at Heathrow.

King Arthur:

Well, I haven't seen him in front of any diggers and they're doing it now, aren't they? But that's the trouble with politicians. They lie. I don't. I'm sworn to truth, honor and justice.

King Arthur:

But but yeah. So, you know, lots of things happen in in that manner and in strange manners. And it comes and and then and then you get the the affirmations. The affirmations that the day for instance, before we we was the very last camp, Camelot Camp, to be evicted on the Newbury Bypass protest, the very last one to be evicted. We had all but we had the canal going on one side of our our camp and the Kennet going the other side and we tried to smash away through so it it we'd be moated.

King Arthur:

Didn't have time to do it. But when they came in to evict us, we had the swans just arriving and chasing the bailiffs and wild horses seen running around. This was when the last camp fell. We were the last camp. And we were basically we just sort of everyone who'd been evicted from all the others.

King Arthur:

I mean, at Pixie Camp that I spoke about earlier when I when I was up the beech tree for two hours holding them off. That was the first eviction. Now we come around to the last eviction. I hadn't been caught the day before and we'd won. We'd held them off till the April 1, which is nestling season, and they couldn't evict.

King Arthur:

But of course they did. Why? Because it was cheaper to evict and pay the fine Yeah. Than it than it was. And that's the way they worked.

King Arthur:

And that's the way they used the law against us all over the place. And and I was often arrested, and and they knew they'd be letting me go, you know, and and some of them were amusing. I mean, I'd I'd just won the right in Southwark Crown Court to carry my sword and my ritual dagger. The Metropolitan Police had nicked me when I was on the march for social justice. I was up there fighting for the Liverpool dockers who were on on strike.

King Arthur:

It was called the march for social justice. We'd we'd done lots of marches up there against the poll tax and against other stuff, and I'd been prosecuted and and whatever for many of those. But this this particular time was the March of Social Justice, and I and they'd taken me sword away. They'd taken my ritual dagger off me. And just after the court case where they had to return it, we were about to be evicted from Kingston.

King Arthur:

Okay? There there was another protest site going on in Kingston. Funnily enough, I went to that protest site and it's called Kingston because it's named after the King's Stone, which is actually there. And five different druid orders crowned me on top of it as the Druid King of Britain. The stupid thing is he's right inside a police station.

King Arthur:

The coppers were hanging out the window. Sorry, please. Because it's Kingston. Go go for it, Arthur. It was all filled by sky.

Estelle Phillips:

How funny.

King Arthur:

So I've just been made the Druid King of Britain as it were. And a friend of mine, a young Druid is there and he's whittling away this little piece of wood into a to a pointed stick. Only about that big. He said, we're gonna get evicted tomorrow, aren't we? I said, yep.

King Arthur:

They're gonna come in tomorrow. I said, trust me. I would do it. I know these things. And luckily, I was right.

King Arthur:

Mhmm. So, basically, they saw it was d day. The police, they came in on the Thames, so they came in and jumped off their police launches. And they evicted us. I was the first to be arrested, and I was taken away.

King Arthur:

So anyway, Heath said to me the night before, can you look after this? This this little stick. So he's given his little stick. So I said, yeah. So they would nick me straight away for my weapons even though they know they've gotta give them back and it ain't gonna work.

King Arthur:

It's a political arrest. They want me out of the way. So they've done me for me me my weapons as it were. So I'm I've I've gone in. The custody sergeant knows me.

King Arthur:

Said, oh, Arthur. Yeah. Alright, mate. He said, well, yeah. I said, it's easy idiots pointing to the two metropolitan police who who'd arrest me because this is they plan to take me to the local, Nick, which is sorry.

King Arthur:

It's Kingston. So, yeah, what you got him for? And they've said, you know, the weapons. So he said, come on in. Sign here, Arthur.

King Arthur:

So what we got? Four foot broadsword? I said, no. No. No.

King Arthur:

No. No. Ceremonial. Okay. I'll write down ceremonial sword.

King Arthur:

Okay. Sykes Fairburn commando. No. Ritual dagger. Okay.

King Arthur:

Ritual dagger. And then he gets to this bit of wood, and he says, and what's this then? It's a pointed stick, isn't it? So thinking on me feet, I said, well, it's quite obviously a vampire stake. And if you will have taken through it to court for possession of a vampire sake, when you know damn well you're gonna give me my sword of my tiger back, go for it.

King Arthur:

Needless to say, they never prosecuted me. So there's a laugh with the law as well. But one of the things about the lore and and why it's so important to the druid rather than I mean, because I am a senior druid as well as being a pagan priest, as well as being a pagan, I am a druid. The lore is very important and upholding the law is very important. But you've got to remember, the ancient druids who we take our inspiration from, me and my order, you know, we we take our inspiration from from the guys that worried the Roman army.

King Arthur:

You know what I mean? But the ancient druids were the lawmakers and the magistrates of the day. So they were the judiciary, which is now think about this. Here's something to think about. The Romans are the victors.

King Arthur:

So writing from the victors point of view, it is where the history is written. They say that the druids were barbarians. They were into human sacrifice. Now, they are forgetting the fact that the druids were the judiciary. So what they are saying was a human fact a sacrifice was no more than an execution.

King Arthur:

Totally different. Were you to go forward five hundred years from now and get yourself a historian in five hundred years time, get yourself a historian and get yourself an archaeologist and show them a bit of film that's filmed now on death row of an execution, and they'll say, that must have been human sacrifice. Look, there's a guy there with a white collar. Yeah. He's there administering the last rites.

King Arthur:

He's not there because it's a human sacrifice. It's the judiciary and and they are being executed, but there is a priest there. So how do you know that that's done it? You know, from the Roman point of view saying, well, there was no druids there. It must be you know.

King Arthur:

So nothing is true. Nothing is false. It could it's all how how you relate to it. And there was a a famous quote actually by Robert Anton Wilson. And it and it's his publishers who are now publishing the latest edition of my book that has this article in by Kear Stalmer.

King Arthur:

And one of the things Robert Anton Wilson said, reality is what you get away with. And if you think about it, we all have our own reality. None of us know that we share the same reality with anybody else. We all know what we think and what we think is true and what we see around us and and how we interpret it. But it may not be true for everyone or it may not be the same truth for everyone.

King Arthur:

Now, when someone joins my order, I swear them to three things, to truth, honor and justice, to speak the truth, to honor less spoken word, and to be just and fair in all weird dealings. But it's their truth, their honor, and their justice. Basically, if you think something's wrong, don't do it. It's really simple. And and then that is how we interpret and how we follow the law.

King Arthur:

And we follow both laws, LAW and LORE.

Estelle Phillips:

Thank you so much. That was absolutely fantastic.

King Arthur:

I hope I hope it's useful.
